Volunteers of America Colorado Gives Holiday Baskets, Gifts

Denver – Volunteers of America Colorado will welcome media coverage on Monday, Dec. 19 as hundreds of Holiday Dinner Baskets are distributed to the community. Each basket will contain a $50 gift card from Safeway, nonperishable food items, and bread from VOAC’s City Harvest.

The event will be held at the Volunteers of America Mission on Lawrence Street and will see 600 baskets distributed to individuals receiving VOAC services as well as the general public. Sign-up for this program has passed, as those receiving baskets have already been allocated vouchers. Parents will also receive one gift per child from VOAC’s Santa Shop.

Separately, an additional 150 baskets as well as gifts will be allotted to individuals and families whose children attend VOAC’s Early Childhood Education Center. Another 300 gift cards will be given to those receiving VOAC services outside of the Denver Metro. In all, VOAC expects to distribute around 6,000 gifts this holiday season.

Along with our partners from Safeway, VOAC would also like to thank Food Bank of the Rockies for providing the nonperishable items to supplement the dinner package.
